How do AI glasses from Meta capture and store videos?

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) and Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard record up to 3K video with a built-in 12 MP ultra-wide camera and store clips on the glasses' internal memory. Use the capture button or say "Hey Meta" to take photos or start and stop video. Then, review and share your clips through the Meta AI app.

AI glasses from Meta operate entirely with voice commands. Tap the capture button on your AI glasses, and the white LED will blink to confirm your shot. Or, just say, "Hey Meta, take a photo," and your glasses will capture it hands-free.

Livestreaming is only available on Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1). Newer models, including the Ray-Ban (Gen 2) and Oakley Meta HSTN and Oakley Meta Vanguard, don't support live streaming.

Battery life depends on the model. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) glasses offer up to 4 hours, while Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) supports up to 8 hours of use. Oakley Meta HSTN lasts up to 8 hours of typical use or 5 hours of continuous audio. Oakley Meta Vanguard delivers up to 9 hours of typical use or 6 hours of continuous audio.

  • Turn on your glasses by sliding the power switch forward, then place them in the case so the nose bridge touches the charging port. Wait for the LED to flash blue, open the Meta AI app and tap the Add Device option. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair.
  • To unpair, go to device settings in the app, tap Unpair and Forget them in your phone's Bluetooth if needed. For more guidance, visit the Meta Help Center.
