When you sign up for the Public Test Channel, you’ll automatically get the pre-release version of the software when one is available. Otherwise, you’ll get the public version.

Before we make our software available to everyone, we put it through a variety of tests in an effort to ensure there are no major issues. The Public Test Channel Program is an opportunity for our community to test pre-release builds of the software, and join in to help with the process. Together we can work to build better features and updates, and we look forward to hearing your suggestions, issues you report, and feedback on new features and changes.

You can choose to join the Public Test Channel anytime, and by enrolling, you'll be given the option to report any issues you encounter while testing potential changes. You can also choose to leave the program anytime after you've enrolled. Keep in mind enrolling in the Public Test Channel means you'll be testing a beta version of the software that isn't a finished product, so you may encounter issues ranging from minor issues to app crashes.

If you run into any issues that cause discomfort or safety features to stop working, such as boundary, we recommend you stop using the Public Test Channel or use it with caution.

To enroll in the Meta Quest Public Test Channel:

  1. Open the Meta Quest Link PC app on your PC.
  2. Select Settings in the left menu then select the Beta tab.
  3. Select the toggle next to Public Test Channel to enroll.

Once you've enrolled in the Public Test Channel, you can choose to leave at any time by returning to the Beta section of the Meta Quest Link PC app and clicking next to Public Test Channel. If you unenroll from the Public Test Channel, you may need to restart your device before the changes occur.
