How to delete your Meta account

Follow the steps below to delete your Meta account.
If you want to delete your account but don’t have a password, you’ll need to create one before you can delete your account.
Note: If you're 10-12 years old (age may vary by region) with a Meta account that’s managed by your parent or guardian, your parent may need to delete your account for you. Your parent needs to log into your account before following the instructions below.

- Log into Accounts Center using your Meta account information.
- Click
Personal details on the left.
- Click Account ownership and control, then select Deactivation or deletion.
- Select your Meta account.
- Review your Meta account information, then click Continue.
- Review the information and make any selections, then click Continue.
- Enter your password, then click Continue.
- Click Delete account.
What happens after you delete your account
When you delete your Meta account, you won’t be able to use your Meta Quest device or access your downloaded apps, in-app purchases and created content. It may take up to 90 days for your Meta account data to be deleted.
Some of your information requires you to delete it separately.
Please keep in mind that once your account has been deleted you won't be able to reactivate it or retrieve anything you've added, including:
- All of your apps and in-app purchases
- Your Meta Horizon app achievements
- Your Horizon followers and followers list
- Any history of interactions with other users on the Meta Horizon platform
- Any content you created on the Meta Horizon platform
You also will no longer be able to return any apps and will lose any existing Store credits.
If you're a developer with a published app, you'll need to contact developer relations if you intend to remove your apps from the Store prior to deleting your organization. Otherwise, developers can reach out to Developer Support. Meta may still retain certain data to comply with local laws, such as sales receipts to comply with local tax laws.
