Free ‘C-Smash VRS’ Update Adds Time Attack Mode and More, Out Today

Early last month C-Smash VRS launched on the Quest platform, offering up its unique brand of futuristic racket sport action for VR gamers. As a reimagining of the 2001 SEGA Dreamcast classic, Cosmic Smash, C-Smash VRS is an addictive arcade-style game that mixes vibes from sports like squash with the block-busting thrills of Breakout. It’s a blast to play and definitely shouldn’t be missed.

To make the prospect even more irresistible, the folks at RapidEyeMovers and Wolf & Wood are releasing a free update today that introduces a brand new game mode and more fresh content to keep ideas flowing.

Starting with today’s update, players can now play a ‘Time Attack’ mode. In this new game mode, players are tasked with smashing as many blocks as they possibly can within the time limit to try and earn a spot on the monthly leaderboard rankings. You’ll be able to view the top-10 spot on leaderboards going forward now too, as well as your relative position more easily.

Plus, this update adds a shortcut to more easily find online matches from the main menu and, for anyone aiming to level up their skills in a solo environment at their own pace, you can take a swing at the single-player ‘Practice Mode.’ Teleport movement also works better now as it will predict the ball’s trajectory to get you in the best spot for returns.

The developers behind C-Smash VRS continue to work on the game and make it even better. You can check it out for yourself on the Quest platform to see why Digital Foundry named it their VR Game of the Year last year.
