The life of a cat is a simple one: Eat, sleep, claw furniture, climb to high places, knock stuff off shelves. I Am Cat pulls you into the first-feline experience as an agent of cute and cuddly chaos, and with developer New Folder Games’ latest update, you can now explore and wreak havoc with a clowder of cat pals.

In I Am Cat, you take on the role of a destructive kitty wandering through the house of their elderly owner. What mischief you get up to is up to you—there are plenty of things around the house to interact with, from fish in the aquarium to balloons floating in the rafters. And in incredibly realistic cat fashion, you can climb up on shelves, find the most valuable objects, and send them crashing to pieces on the floor below.

Playing mini-games, earning cat cosmetics, and finding interactive secrets will all keep you busy in I Am Cat. But until now, those were all things you had to do alone. With the multiplayer update, you can now leave the terrestrial confines of Granny’s House and venture into a whole new area—a flying pirate ship that’s full of cat-tivities, floating among the clouds. And once aboard, you can get into trouble in cahoots with other kitties.

The free update lets you join multiplayer sessions of up to 20 players to adventure through the ship from a cat’s-eye view. That’s a whole lot of curious cats breaking stuff, so the update also adds lots of new interactable elements for players to find and experiment with as they enjoy their feline escapades.

The multiplayer update includes a sandbox mode where you’re free to explore and interact with everything in the pirate ship. You can also challenge your cat cohorts to snowball fights, basketball games, and brawls with medieval weapons. For some more collaborative activities, you can take to a performance stage and put your paws to work playing a piano concerto, or head to the galley to prepare and cook different foods.

Customizing your kitty with a variety of cosmetic items is already a big part of the fun in I Am Cat, and with the multiplayer update, you’ll have plenty of chances to show off your feline fashion. New Folder Games is adding more cosmetic options with the new update to increase your cat customization capabilities, with five new cosmetics bundles available for in-app purchase.

New Folder Games has more content in store for I Am Cat as well, and you can expect future updates to add even more multiplayer mayhem to the game.

The multiplayer update is free for all I Am Cat players. You can become a 10-pound ball of mayhem and join other fiendish furbabies in I Am Cat today—grab it on the Meta Horizon Store for $19.99 USD.

To celebrate update, the devs have launched a Multicat Madness bundle, which includes the base game + six skins:

  • Alien
  • Detective
  • Robot
  • Superhero
  • Wolf
  • Zombie

Each pack comes with custom fur, eyes, watch, and hat that can all be mixed and matched. The Multicat Madness bundle can be yours for the low, low price of $29.99 USD—a 25% discount compared to purchasing the base game and skins individually.
