Meta Horizon Worlds v111 Release Notes

Meta Horizon Worlds v111 is here! This week, we’re introducing new sound settings that give you more control over who you hear—or don’t hear—in Worlds. We also fixed six bugs, and we’re continuing to experiment with new quests and rewards for our existing test group to try out.

Choose Who You Want (and Don’t Want) to Hear

Voices is a new setting within the sounds menu that lets you filter out some voices so you can focus on the people you want to talk to or the game you want to play.

Voices introduces three new options to choose from:

  • People who follow you back lets you hear people you know, no matter where they are in the virtual world you’re in.
  • People nearby lets you focus on conversations with people whose avatars are physically close to you.
  • Everyone (default) lets you hear everyone around your avatar, helping you feel like you’re part of a big group.

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Quests & Rewards: Earlier this year, we began testing quests and rewards with a small group of people in Worlds. While those tests continue, we’re now adding some new quests to complete and rewards to earn. If you’re a part of this limited test audience, you may see new quests in your quest board under “Get Started.” Completing these quests gives you a chance to earn new emotes as a reward. Happy questing!

Bug Fixes

General

  • We fixed several issues with persistent variables that would occasionally cause variables to reset, resulting in some people losing progress in worlds.
  • We fixed an issue where attachables weren’t visible to players who joined a game in progress.
  • We fixed an issue where the invite-received sound was incorrectly being played each time the personal user interface was opened if the user had a pending invite.
  • We fixed a bug where the grab anchor was visible on dynamically spawned items.
  • We fixed a potential crash that can be caused when transitioning worlds at the same time as a pop-up appears.
  • We fixed an issue that prevented the personal user interface from loading for some people.

Known Issues

General

  • A number of worlds are showing lower visitor counts than the number of people actually visiting.
  • People are unable to see a new follower’s profile after clicking on New Follower notification in the menu.
  • The paragraph description for the “What’s New” prompt is cut short. The last sentence is incomplete even when scrolling.
