Meta Horizon Worlds v122 Release Notes

Meta Horizon Worlds v122 is here! This week’s update is focused on further improvements and bug fixes for creation in Worlds. We’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who jumped in to play Super Rumble on launch day and for your ongoing enthusiastic support for the game. Let’s see who can top the leaderboards this week!

Quality of Life Improvements

General

  • Falling for four seconds would automatically cause you to respawn, but this had unintended consequences for worlds with reduced gravity or that used falling for gameplay. We’ve increased the respawn timer, so it now takes 30 seconds before you’ll automatically respawn. Creators can ensure their players don’t fall for a long time by adding a trigger under the world and attaching a script that respawns the player at the spawn point when they enter the trigger.

Bug Fixes

Creators

  • We fixed a bug where the yellow selection box that highlighted an asset of a group of objects didn’t scale correctly.
  • We fixed an intermittent bug where creators couldn’t deselect an object after moving it.
  • We fixed a bug where some creators experienced issues pulling out an asset from the asset library.
  • We fixed a bug where the keyboard didn’t close when a creator interacted with a different object while it was open.
  • We fixed a bug that was causing some assets in the asset library to flicker when repeatedly duplicated.
  • We fixed a bug that caused property panels for objects inside a group to open up really far away.
  • We fixed a bug where moving an object that had been deleted and then had the deletion undone would cause the frame rate to drop.
  • We fixed a bug where checking for a collision on a tagged group of objects didn’t work as expected.
  • We fixed a bug where creators were unable to see the TrailFX gizmo.

Known Issues

General

  • When someone uses the sad emote, they actually do an angry emote.
  • Grabbable objects will apply a physics force to the avatar.
  • Sometimes grab points are difficult to see or grab.
  • When the World Music setting is set to 0%, the music continues to play.

Creators

  • There’s an issue where creators can’t close the door gizmo panel when the name of the world being attached to the door is long.
  • An object’s tag can’t be completely deleted unless you modify the tag before deleting all characters.
  • Worlds with several collaborators sometimes have problems loading their door content.
  • Creators are unable to group more than 1,000 items at once.
  • There’s an error in the sequence of scripting events regarding player entry. The “player enters” event is fired before the “world starts” event.
