Meta Horizon Worlds v134 Release Notes: Quest Chats, Public Photos in Horizon Feed, & More
Meta Horizon Worlds v134 is here! This week, we’re bringing chats to Worlds, testing out new ways to share the photos people take while exploring, and fixing some bugs. Let’s jump in.
Bringing Chats to Worlds
This update will make staying in touch, planning hangouts, and forming groups easier than ever. Across Meta Quest, people are using chats—private, persistent one-to-one and group messages—to help stay connected. To keep those conversations going, you’ll now be able to access Quest-level chats from within Worlds. The chats sent from Worlds are the same messages that appear across the Quest Platform, so you can pick up the conversation where you left off.

Messaging on chats is complementary to features like world chat, a public, text-based chat experience for people in the same world session. However, chats are persistent and allow for private conversations that you can come back to. From Worlds, you can access chats via your profile, social panel, and even world chat. When you’re done chatting, simply click “Back to Horizon Worlds.” Business as usual: Chats will be available while exploring Worlds in VR as well as on mobile and the web, though some people may not see chats right away as we continue to roll out this feature.
We’re excited to make chatting seamless throughout Meta Quest experiences, so you can continue your conversations no matter where you are.

Quality of Life Improvements
General
- We’re testing a new feature highlighting the photos that people share publicly to a world. If a shared photo is approved by the world’s Creator, it may appear in Horizon Feed to help other people discover more popular destinations to explore.
Bug Fixes
Here are some highlighted bug fixes for this week’s release.
General
- We fixed a bug where user names were cropped and overlapped with other user cards in the People tab in the Horizon Menu.
- We fixed a bug where the event world card text was cut off in the Worlds tab of the Horizon Menu.
- We addressed an issue where people were always reported as joinable regardless of whether they were in a private or public instance.
- We fixed a few bugs related to photo cards, including being unable to grab or close out of them.
Creators
- We fixed a bug where drag-and-dropping child codeblocks to move them from one parent codeblock to another sometimes resulted in the dragged codeblock being hidden under the panel.
Known Issues
Below are some of the known issues the Worlds team is currently investigating.
General
- Controller triggers don’t always fire code events if both are clicked at the same time. Creators should take note so that they don't rely on this functionality for anything major in their worlds (e.g., to start a round of a game).
- When the user rotates the controllers in their physical hand, the avatar hand rotates continuously.
Creators
- The “when object detaches from player” codeblock doesn’t fire in some cases.
