Today’s the big day for fans of Onward! The game’s biggest update ever, Onward Update 2.0, is now live, introducing Operators to offer a more personalized experience , new weapons, new maps, and so much more. This is the most polished and epic Onward has ever felt, thanks to the tireless work by the team at Downpour Interactive.

If you want to learn more about Onward Update 2.0, check out our exclusive interview from last week with tons of details from the studio’s Community Manager and Producer.

Where to start with this one? Well, first and foremost with this update you can expect to see widespread enhancements to the game’s visuals across the board, including a remastered legacy map (Downfall) and updated weapon models with higher graphical fidelity on all guns and equipment. Yes, literally everything.

The team is also introducing the aforementioned 20 Operators, who serve as avatars for players to pick from so you finally have some input and control over how you look and present yourself in the game. Not to mention an all-new map as well that’s set in a tunnel in the rainforest, specifically optimized for exciting close-quarters combat. Plus dozens of smaller improvements and quality of life updates from top to bottom.

Onward Update 2.0 touches so many areas of the game, it might actually be easier to mention the parts that aren’t getting some kind of overhaul or update! Maybe we’ll try that method instead next time.

Make sure to head over to the game’s Meta Horizon store page and download the game for yourself. And in case you didn’t know, Onward is now also included in the massive Meta Quest+ game catalog.
