‘VAIL VR’ Coming to the Official Meta Quest Store February 15
Virtual reality development is often a labor of love, which is certainly true for AEXLAB. Founded by brothers Albert and Jonathan Ovadia, the studio’s mission is to develop a VR multiplayer shooter focused on gunplay and social interactions. VAIL released in early access on SteamVR in November 2022 and on Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro via App Lab a year later. And now, after seven years of development and iteration based on community feedback, VAIL VR is launching out of early access on the official Meta Quest Store on February 15 for $29.99 USD!
The official launch will introduce a suite of new features, including:
- An advanced matchmaking system featuring cross-play between the Meta Quest and Steam platforms
- An in-game progression system for unlocking weapons and skins
- An arsenal expansion with new weapons like the Deagle and Shotguns
- Two new maps: Atmos and Void
- A revamped Friends List with in-game party capabilities
- Comprehensive leaderboards and stats tracking.
With 12 maps and 30+ variations custom-made for each game mode, VAIL VR has plenty to keep players coming back for more. Players can engage in a variety of game modes including Search and Destroy, Capture the Flag, Hardpoint, and 1v1 Duels. Unlock weapons, sights, gun skins, and character skins as you level up and gain prestige.
Everyone who plays the game before launch on App Lab will get the Crash Dummy cosmetics pack including the Colonist and MK23 Crash Dummy skins.
