Voice shortcuts provide a hands-free, low-effort way to access commands while exercising or playing sports. Voice shortcuts are off by default, and you can enable them from the Meta AI mobile app or by using your voice.

When voice shortcuts are enabled, you can say:

  • “Photo” to take a photo.
  • “Video” to start recording video.
  • “Music” to play music.
  • “Action” to activate whatever action is assigned to the action button on Oakley Meta Vanguard.
  • “Stop” to stop the current or most recent experience on your glasses.
  • “Stats” to receive a stats overview from your connected Garmin device.

Note: The “Stats” command requires a connected Garmin device.

Enable or disable voice shortcuts by voice

The easiest way to enable voice shortcuts is to say “Hey Meta, turn on voice shortcuts.”

You can say “Hey Meta, turn off voice shortcuts” to disable them.

Enable voice shortcuts from the Meta AI mobile app

You can also control voice shortcuts from the Meta AI mobile app by following these steps:

  1. From the Meta AI mobile app, tap Devices in the bottom right.
  2. Tap Voice shortcuts in the list of available quick actions below your device.
    • You may need to swipe through quick actions to find Voice shortcuts.

Configure voice shortcuts for Garmin activities

If you have connected a Garmin device, you can configure voice shortcuts to turn on anytime you start a Garmin activity by following these steps:

  1. From the Meta AI mobile app, tap Devices in the bottom right.
  2. Tap Settings.
    • If you have multiple devices paired with the Meta AI mobile app, swipe left or right to select the device you want to adjust settings for before tapping Settings.
  3. Tap App connections.
  4. Tap Garmin.
  5. Tap Voice shortcuts.
  6. Enable On during Garmin activities.

Note: “Hey Meta” must be enabled in order to use voice shortcuts, which you can find by going to Meta AI in Device settings and tapping “Hey Meta” preferences.
