How to manage parental supervision for a child to use Worlds
Updated:21 weeks ago
After a Meta account has been created for your child age 10-12 (age may vary by region), they’ll be able to access Worlds. You can use the supervision features found in the Family Center to tailor your child’s experience in Meta Horizon Worlds.
To access Worlds supervision tools from the Meta Horizon mobile app:
- Make sure you’ve approved Worlds after your child requests to download it.
- Follow the steps in our article to create a Meta account for your child if you have not done so already.
- Open the Meta Horizon mobile app.
- Tap
Menu.
- Tap Family Center.
- Tap your child’s account.
From here, you can:
- Tap Worlds to block your child from using a specific world.
- See how much time your child has spent in Worlds and apps over the last 7 days under Their time spent.
- Tap Manage time limits to set time limits or schedule breaks.
- Tap Safety settings and then tap Manage World access to manage world access by world rating. Select from the following options:
- Approve worlds one by one
- All worlds rated ages 10+
- All worlds rated ages 13+ (inclusive of worlds rated ages 10+)
- Tap Worlds to approve, block or unblock individual worlds your child can access. Tap each world individually and make your selection. You can also see lists of approved, blocked and created worlds.
- Remove world collaborators or unpublish a previously published world: under Their experiences, tap Worlds, then tap Created. Select the world you would like to modify, then choose Remove to remove a collaborator or Unpublish to unpublish a world.
- Tap Gen AI features to see Generative AI features that your child or teen may have experienced.
Note: Worlds that your child has permission to access will be available on Meta Quest, the Meta Horizon mobile app and horizon.meta.com. Your child will have permission to collaborate on and publish worlds at the same world rating level they have access to.
Additional information
- Voice chat is disabled between anyone your child interacts with except for approved contacts.
- Your child will not be given recommendations of people to follow.
- Active status is set to offline and can only be managed by the adult who supervises the account.
