How to use captions in worlds

We’ve created captions to help more people use worlds. When captions are on, you’ll see a text version of other people’s words and sounds from the world you’re in. Captions can be used in all worlds, but aren’t available for group audio calls like parties. You can select to see text translated in Spanish, German, Italian, and French.
To turn on captions:
- Check your settings to make sure you're on the latest operating system.
- Press
Menu on your left Touch controller.
- Select Settings, then select Sound.
- Select Captions, then select the toggle to turn this feature on or off.
Captions need to be turned on in Worlds even if you have captions turned on in your Meta Quest’s settings.
Note: Worlds uses your audio to create captions if you or someone near you is using them. Once captions are produced, the audio data is deleted. If you don’t want your audio used for captions, you can turn off your mic.
