Whether you're using your Meta Quest for gaming, working, or watching movies and sports, it should always be seamless and fun. That's why we've introduced several features this year that elevate your experience. Here’s the latest.

We’re always working to improve the Meta Quest experience, and the updated Navigator gives you a faster, cleaner, distraction-free way to jump straight into your favorite apps and games. 

We've redesigned the layout to give you easy access to everyday controls like recording, calls, and playback, while notifications and ongoing activities stay visible in your field of view without getting in the way. And you can also now rearrange your app library by putting your favorites first or grouping them into folders. Plus, VR Home now features new default scenery that lets you enjoy a vast landscape filled with majestic mountains and waterfalls.

And when it comes to moving, controlling, and organizing your virtual space, we’ve made it easier to do with or without a controller in hand. 

A new set of hand-tracking improvements makes it smoother than ever to move and grab panels, reducing accidental releases and letting you navigate your virtual Home without controllers.

Voice Control is another way to go hands-free, letting you navigate and interact with 2D panels using just your voice and head gaze. And when you need to type, on-device Voice Dictation can turn your voice into your keyboard — even when you're offline.

Your workspace is also more streamlined now with apps, windows, and panels that automatically snap and align to nearby walls. As you move windows around, they dynamically resize to give you a perfect preview of how they'll look. You can always override this feature and place apps precisely where you want.

If you prefer a physical setup, the experimental surface keyboard and touchpad turns any flat surface into a virtual input device, making it easier to blend your digital workspace with your physical space.

And your media gets an upgrade, too: photos and videos in Gallery now automatically open in 3D to add lifelike depth to your memories. You can also upload photos to your headset from the Horizon app to view them in 3D.

Meta AI Meets VR

Meta AI has transitioned out of experimental settings and is now fully available across all Meta Quest devices. Designed to integrate directly into your experience, Meta AI offers quick assistance with just a simple voice command, and it allows you to speak naturally to navigate faster and find what you need in seconds across the headset.

Whether you need expert assistance or want to take actions across the device, OS, store, and apps, Meta AI* streamlines your interactions with voice. The most comprehensive Quest assistant yet, it’s smart, adaptive, and built to streamline your VR interactions.

Quality Enhancements You Can Feel

Sometimes the best updates are the simplest ones — subtle refinements you don’t have to think about and that make everything just work better. Here’s some of the improvements we made this year on Meta Quest:

• A personalized action button: You can now customize the action button on your Meta Quest 3S from Settings. This enables faster access to your favorite actions without needing to exit your current experience. You can also switch between light and dark system themes without restarting your device. 
• Intuitive app offloading: By opting in to Automatic App Offload you can now choose which apps to keep installed even if you haven't used them recently. And we now automatically restore your previous session. For example, your open panels in browser will reappear exactly where they were before when you relaunch the app.
• Smoother visuals: FrameSync is a behind-the-scenes improvement that reduces lag so what you see stays perfectly in sync with how you move. That means you'll notice smoother visuals across your experience.

Stay Safe and In the Know

We always want your Meta Quest experience to be secure, and some of the ways we’ve ramped up the platform's overall privacy and security include:

• Privacy alerts: Privacy indicator alerts you when certain privacy related features are in use, and which apps are currently using them. Previously, this was only visible in the main home environment. Now, a purple dot appears directly in the control bar when using non-immersive apps, alerting you in real time when that app accesses sensitive permissions like your microphone, camera, or location.
• Selective media sharing: New granular media privacy controls let you share specific photos or videos with an app rather than granting access to your entire gallery.
• Passkey support: You can now log into supported websites like Google, YouTube, and Discord using passkeys in the Browser. With passkeys, you don't need to remember passwords. Instead, you can store a key securely on your device and use a passcode to access it.
• Local malware detection: Finally, we released local on-device malware detection that checks sideloaded apps against a database of known harmful software.
