Options for parental supervision on Meta Portal

While Meta Portal is designed to help families connect, it’s not a children's device and should not be used without parental supervision.

To limit access on Meta Portal, you can:

  • Turn on household mode so you can limit which contacts and apps people in your home can access on Meta Portal.
  • Set up passcodes for your device. You can set a 4-digit Profile Passcode that can be used to switch profiles or authenticate yourself for certain actions on Meta Portal. Profile Passocdes are required if you enable household mode. People with profiles can also set a Screen Lock Passcode to limit access to a device after the screen times out.

You must have an active Facebook or WhatsApp account and therefore be 13 years of age or older to create a Meta Portal profile.
