Ask your parent for permission to change your Active Status

If you’re 10-12 years old (age may vary by region) with a Meta account that's managed by your parent or guardian, then you can ask your parent for permission to change your Active Status from appear offline to online or joinable.

If they approve your request, then you can change your Active Status at any time. You can’t change your Active Status to be more visible than what your parent has allowed.

Your parent will be notified when you change your Active Status.

To ask your parent for permission to change your Active Status:

  1. On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
  2. Tap at the top of your Horizon Feed.
  3. Scroll down to Privacy and security, then tap Privacy settings.
  4. Tap Active Status, then select the Active Status setting you want.
  5. Tap Ask them to send the request to your parent.

Note: Make sure you’re logged into the app using your account.
