Factory reset your organization-managed Meta Quest

This article is for people who are using a device that’s managed by an organization, not for people who want to factory reset a personal device.

Factory resetting a Meta Quest is irreversible and will remove all account information and content from the headset. Admins can also wipe or release devices.

If you need to factory reset your organization-managed device:

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) buttons simultaneously until the boot screen loads.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset, then press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes, then press the power button.

Note: If you are using an organization-managed Meta Quest, then you cannot contact support. However, you can report a problem on your device, which creates a bug report for your admin to review.
