Troubleshoot issues logging back into your Meta Quest headset
If you are experiencing an issue logging back into your Meta Quest headset after you have been logged out, here are a few things you can try:
Make sure your headset is connected to Wi-Fi
Your headset needs a Wi-Fi connection to log you back in. If you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection, your headset will prompt you to connect to Wi-Fi.
If you’re still having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, try switching to another network.

Check the Meta Horizon mobile app
If you’re logged into the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone with the same account that you use on your headset, the app should log you back into your headset automatically.
If this doesn’t work, try these tips:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the Meta Horizon app installed on your phone.
- Make sure your phone has Bluetooth turned on and that the Meta Horizon app has Bluetooth permissions.
- Make sure the mobile app shows your headset is connected via Bluetooth.
Keep in mind that some of these mobile app tips won’t work if you’re an additional profile on the headset.
Resolve issues with your Meta account
If there are problems with your Meta account, they may need to be resolved before you can log into your headset.
You can check by going to https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/.
If you see your headset listed, then you should be able to log back into your headset with this account. If you get redirected or are unable to load this webpage, then follow the instructions to resolve your account issues.
Confirm you’re logging into the right account
Make sure you’re logging back in with the same account you used to add your profile to the headset.
You can check that you're using the same account by going to https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/.
If you see your headset listed, then you are using the right Meta account to log back into your headset. If you do not see your headset listed, you might be using the wrong Meta account. Try logging in with a different account.
Update your headset’s software
You may need to update your headset’s software before you can log back in. Use the software update tool to update your headset.
Perform a hard reboot
If you've tried the above, try performing a hard reboot. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, until you hear the device turn back on.
